18 goals, 16 Assists Star Midfielder Express Readiness To Sign For Man United

Midfield star admits he’d love to join Manchester United after 18-goal season

Brazil international Raphael Veiga has named Manchester United alongside Premier League rivals Man City and Arsenal while admitting that he would love to test himself in Europe.

With his 29th birthday only a few months away, Raphael Veiga sounds like a man who knows that time is not exactly on his side.

The experienced playmaker has spent every year of his professional career back home in Brazil and, regardless of just how integral he has been to Palmeiras’ recent success, the feeling remains that the ship has sailed as far as a move to one of Europe’s A-list clubs is concerned.

That has not stopped Veiga from dreaming, however, with Manchester United one of a number of cross-continental powerhouses the playmaker would love to represent

“I have the desire to play in Europe,” Veiga begins, speaking to AS. “But I’m also very happy to play for Palmeiras.

“I think any player has the dream of playing in the Old Continent (in Europe) to compete with the best players in the world, to participate in the big leagues.

“If that happens one day, it will be very satisfying.”

The late-blooming Veiga, who has earned every one of his six Brazil caps in the last 12 months, has picked up no fewer than 10 trophies since 2020, with Palmeiras the reigning champions of the South American nation.

Veiga scored 18 goals and set up 16 more during a staggering season last time out. Numbers that would make even Bruno Fernandes blush.

“I like a lot of teams in Europe,” he adds. “Barcelona, Madrid, City, Arsenal, and others like Manchester United. It’s difficult to name just one.

“They all have something special and interesting.”

Man United already have two Brazilians in their ranks, in Casemiro and Antony. Both players are facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford, however, even if Antony’s agent tells UnitedinFocus during an exclusive interview that the winger is determined to fight for his Red Devils career.
