DISAPPOINTING DISAGREEMENT: MLB Fangraphs And Pecota Disagree On……..

MLB Fangraphs and Pecota disagree on NL favorite between Dodgers and Braves

The 2023 MLB seasons of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves were both amazing, but they both unexpectedly collapsed in the postseason. The Dodgers had another fantastic season before suddenly being swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks, appearing completely listless most of the time. The Braves won yet another NL East title before once again falling flat on their faces against the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS.

These clubs are still the favorites to open training camp later this month and finish first and second in the NL in the 2024 MLB season, despite those weaknesses.

It appears that opinions on who has a stronger squad are divided, though. The Braves are predicted by popular sports prediction site Fangraphs to win 98.4 games and the Dodgers 93.6 games, while PECOTA predicts that the Braves will win 100.7 games and the Dodgers will finish with 102 even.

It’s reasonable to assume that both Braves supporters and Dodgers fans won’t be able to relax once the postseason arrives, no matter how many victories they manage to accumulate in the regular season—even if they are huge favorites over whoever they play in the first round. Both Atlanta and Los Angeles’s performance in this previous playoffs was so bad that several fans blamed rust for the teams’ incompetence, calling for the elimination of the interval between the NLDS and the Wild Card round, in which neither club had to play.
