More coaching changes: Renaldo Hill and Sam Madison won’t return next season

Miami’s defensive coaching staff will look much different under first-year coordinator Anthony Weaver.

The Miami Dolphins coaching staff will not have Sam Madison and Renaldo Hill back for the upcoming campaign. Shortly after Brian Duker, the defensive backs coach for the Detroit Lions, was appointed as the team’s secondary coach and pass game coordinator, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald broke the story.
After serving as the Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator for two seasons, Hill, 45, was Vic Fangio’s coordinator for the pass game and defensive backs at Miami. He played with the Dolphins from 2006 to 2008 and was an assistant defensive backs coach in 2018.
Madison, on the other hand, worked for two seasons in South Florida as a pass game specialist and coach of cornerbacks. He spent nine seasons with the Dolphins after being selected in the second round of the 1997 draft.

Miami was rated No. 15 with 223.5 passing yards allowed per game, but in the final three games of the season, that statistic skyrocketed to 312 yards. In 2023, the Dolphins’ run defence ranked sixth, giving up 99.8 running yards per contest.
