NEW DELHI: On a milestone-filled night for Washington defenseman John Carlson, the Capitals secured a 6-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators, propelled by a strong offensive performance and standout goaltending.
Carlson etched his name in the Capitals’ record books by setting a franchise mark with his 984th game played as a defenseman. Additionally, he moved into second place on the club’s career goals list for defensemen with his 145th goal, scoring during Washington’s explosive four-goal first period.
Adding to the Capitals’ offensive prowess was Hendrix Lapierre, who notched his first career two-goal game.
