Kendrick Perkins Has Message For Doc Rivers’ Critics

Ahead of the NBA All-Star break, the Milwaukee Bucks made the unexpected decision to fire head coach Adrian Gryphon despite having one of the best records in the Eastern Conference.

The Bucks decided to offer Doc Rivers the job, and the former Philadelphia 76ers head coach struggled to settle in with the team.

So much so that Rivers even made an admission about the Bucks head coaching job being harder than he anticipated, which resulted in brief, poor play from the team.

However, since the NBA All-Star break, the Bucks have been playing like a completely different team.

It’s evident from the Bucks’ five-game winning streak following their most recent win over the Chicago Bulls.

Keeping the Bucks’ excellent play in mind, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins had a message for Doc Rivers’ critics via his official Twitter handle.

Perkins praised Rivers for leading the Bucks to four straight wins where his team held the opponents under 100 points.

Keeping the high-scoring era in mind, the Bucks have certainly played an elite level of defence over the past few games.

Perkins also pointed out that it feels like Rivers has finally gotten through to the players in the Bucks’ locker room.

At the end of the day, if the Bucks continue playing at this level, it’s great news for the Bucks’ fanbase.

The franchise now boasts an 8-7 record under coach Rivers.

As for the season, they are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-21 record.

They are currently only the fifth team in the entire league with at least 40 wins this season.
