Most Loved Philadelphia Eagles Of All Times Announces Retirement

Eagles great Jason Kelce declares his retirement from the NFL.

Following over two months of contemplation, Jason Kelce declared his intention to formally hang up his cleats and retire.

Legendary Eagles player Jason Kelce announced his official decision to retire from the NFL at a news conference on Monday afternoon. Kelce made his announcement and did not take questions.

Following over two months of conjecture about Kelce’s future, a decision has been made. Reports circulated that the veteran centre told colleagues he intended to retire from the NFL immediately after the Eagles playoff loss to the Bucs.

Kelce said he didn’t think it was appropriate to make that decision so soon after suffering such a deep emotional loss, and he was annoyed that the news had leaked. If his older brother decided to come back for another year, his brother Travis Kelce hinted in the weeks that followed that he likely had a little more left in the tank.

Even so, there was a glimmer of optimism that Jason Kelce would return to lead the Philadelphia Eagles at centre, but in the end, he decided what was best for his young family and himself. In addition to continuing his New Heights Show podcast and taking advantage of all the media opportunities that have undoubtedly arisen, Kelce can now spend more time with his wife Kylie and their three young daughters. Prior to the Super Bowl, Kelce allegedly spoke with multiple networks in Las Vegas.

In any case, Kelce stated that he wanted to remain connected to the Eagles organisation no matter what, so his departure isn’t so much a farewell as a shift to the staff side of things. He’s been so amazing for the team and the community that it’s comforting to have him around.
