NBA teams reportedly keeping their eyes on Sixers superstar big man.Since joining the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid has been nothing but loyal to the franchise. He’s stated on multiple occasions that his biggest goal is to deliver the franchise it’s first championship in 40 years. Despite this, teams around the league are still reportedly keeping their eyes peeled for a “what if” scenario.

Following the trade deadline, Howard Beck of The Ringer touched on possible storylines to follow heading into the summer. He brought up that rivals are keeping tabs on Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo even though it’s highly unlikely for either star to ask out.

“Recent MVPs and a recent history of postseason failures characterize both clubs. Even if things don’t work out again this spring, nobody expects Joel Embiid or Giannis Antetokounmpo to make a move, but rivals are still keeping a watch on them (as well as on Lillard),” Beck noted.

Embiid was playing at an MVP level again when he sustained a knee injury against the Warriors. In addition, the Sixers appeared to be a serious contender after trading for James Harden.

In light of the team’s current situation, it seems doubtful that Embiid will want a trade anytime soon. Tyrese Maxey is his new jogging partner, and he is still improving quickly. Additionally, Daryl Morey keeps the standout big man surrounded by pieces that best suit his style of play.

Morey will be in a better position to strengthen the group of players surrounding Embiid this summer. The Sixers will have a substantial amount of draft capital and cap space to make further moves. Embiid doesn’t need to go looking for a new place to call home because the roster is perfect for his needs.
