Going big game hunting is not something the squad generally does, but things have changed dramatically under Omar Khan. It is not unreasonable to rule out any further options. According to Spotrac, Prescott’s next contract will be for four years and a little more than two hundred and three million dollars. That is a lot of money to pay a quarterback who will turn 31 this summer and has had little success in the playoffs.On paper, the contract is impossible, but the Steelers could perhaps pull it off next year. They have a projected cap space of 78 million, and they might free up more space by restructuring certain transactions and cutting bait with other problematic contracts. Prescott’s expected salary would take up a significant portion of that room, but it could be worth it if both Fields and Wilson struggle.
