MANCHESTER CITY KEY STAR SET TO MISS OUT AGAINST NEWCASTLE, PUNDIT REVEALED

According to BBC analyst Chris Sutton, Erling Haaland may be ruled out of Manchester City’s next Premier League match against Newcastle United.

Since the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, City have been without their Norwegian goal machine, with the star missing the club’s last seven games in all competitions.

Pep Guardiola has been unable to call on the record-breaking number nine due to a stress fracture, with Julian Alvarez leading the line in his absence. City fans are eagerly expecting his comeback, which may not happen until later this month.

City play Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup this weekend, and Kevin De Bruyne may receive some minutes after returning to training.

However, Haaland has been linked to a return against Newcastle United the following weekend.

However, BBC commentator Chris Sutton, speaking on the Fantasy 606 podcast about the 23-year-old, reckons Haaland may not make the game.

He was quoted as saying: “The next few gameweeks are fascinating and I’m hearing Haaland, who’s away in Dubai, I’m hearing he’s not going to be fit.” With Foden and Alvarez on song, City can get by without Haaland.

It’s unclear where Sutton obtained his information, but City can get by without Haaland if he doesn’t play against Newcastle.

City have progressed significantly since returning from the Club World Cup, and two players in particular, Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez, stand out.

Foden has been on fire recently, making 10 vital passes in his previous three Premier League games while only missing eight.

Alvarez has four goals in his last three games, and the duo appears to be a big threat.

City should also have De Bruyne available to face Newcastle, so even if Haaland is ruled out, there is reason to be positive.
