A BOOSTING HIGHLIHGTS OF THE BOSTON CELTICS 2024 PLAYOFF

A comprehensive look back at the highlights of the Boston Celtics’ 2024 playoff drive to their 18th NBA title.

The Boston Celtics completed their historic season in storybook form on Monday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden for their 18th NBA title. Years of astute personnel moves by Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens paid off as the organization ended its 16-year title drought. The C’s celebration will continue for the next week or so, with a victory parade planned for Friday. When the dust settles, Stevens and his team will return to work in the front office, focused on next year’s championship run.

Unlike last summer’s blockbuster transactions for Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, this offseason should be rather quiet. Boston plans to return with virtually the same roster that dominated the 2023-24 season. The greatest theme will be prospective contract extensions for Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, who are both in their final year.Under contract until 2024-25.
Jaylen Brown: $49.7 million (expires 2029)
Jayson Tatum earns $34.8 million (current contract expires in 2025).

Jrue Holiday: $30 million, ends in 2027.
Kristaps Porzingis: $29.3 million (expires 2026)
Derrick White: $19.6 million (expires 2025).
Al Horford: $9.5 million, expires in 2025.
Payton Pritchard: $6.7 million (Expires in 2028)
Jordan Walsh: $1.9 million (expires 2026)
Tatum and White’s contract problems are among the Celtics’ most important offseason storylines. They were extension-eligible right after the NBA Finals, so it wouldn’t be surprising if one or both of them signed their new deal in the coming days. Team Option for 2024-25
Jaden Springer gets $4 million.
Neemias Queta costs $2.2 million.

Sam Hauser gets $2 million.
Springer is eligible for a rookie scale extension this offseason.

Player option for 2024-25.
Oshae Brissett gets $2.4 million.
Restricted Free Agents
JD Davison
Drew Peterson

Unrestricted Free Agents
Luke Kornet
Xavier Tillman Sr.

Svi Mykhailuk
Financial constraints may compel the Celtics to decide between Kornet and Tillman. Both were significant contributors off the bench during the championship season, but it appears unlikely that the Celtics will outbid other teams for both big guys.
