All the traffic jams and disruptions at London Marathon 2024

The London Marathon takes place (almost) every year, but that doesn’t stop it from being a huge surprise, even for with most experienced city dwellers.So if you haven’t heard, you should know that this Sunday, April 21, you’ll see 48,000 sweaty athletes moving across the city, cheering fans in tow, Road closures and traffic restrictions.
If your weekend plans include a pleasant stroll through Blackheath, crossing Tower Bridge or a picnic in St James’s Park, read on.Consistency is power.

Which roads will be closed for the 2024 London Marathon?

But the road doesn’t have to be closed all day.
Instead, their closing times are staggered as riders travel from Greenwich to central London, meaning an afternoon stroll through Blackheath’s luxury shops will no longer be suitable.

What bus changes will occur?

Needless to say, buses in London will also experience quite a bit of disruption.
Buses traveling on routes affected by the marathon will be diverted or not run on this portion of the route.

What about the Underground, London Underground and DLR?

If you want to get somewhere quickly on Sunday, these services are your best choice.
Metro, DLR and air travel will all offer additional services to meet increased demand.
But remember that services that stop near the Marathon line are likely to be busy: the , especially the Jubilee, Circle and District lines, as well as the DLR.
