Charles Leclerc Tips ‘Very good’ 24-year-old driver To be ‘in the mix’ To Race For Ferrari

Despite the current enthusiasm around Oliver Bearman, a former F3 champion remains in competition for a future Ferrari drive, according to Jack Aitken.

Bearman finished sixth in Saudi Arabia over the weekend, giving him the best debut performance by a rookie since the Australian Grand Prix in 2015.

Speaking on the Chequered Flag podcast, Aitken mentioned another driver that should not be neglected.

Bearman took over the Ferrari before of the final practice session in Jeddah, as Carlos Sainz was hospitalised with appendicitis.

He almost missed out on Q3, as seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton posted a lap that was only hundredths of a second faster.

He advanced from eleventh to seventh place on the grid, receiving the driver of the day title in the process.

Bearman is starting his second season in Formula 2 with Prema, having finished sixth in the championship last year.
