CHECKOUT SUPER EXCITING RUGBY NEWS: Referee sent England……….

Referee sent England rugby star surprise present after Wales game

It was a lovely gesture from the iconic referee

James Haskell narrated how referee Nigel Owens gave him a tray of Welsh cakes that were handcrafted and had a thought-provoking message.

Haskell, an England player for 77 years, was a guest on S4C’s “Jonathan” on Thursday night when he gave a preview of the Wales vs. England Six Nations match on February 10.

Haskell was questioned about the historic match by Nigel Owens, Jonathan Davies, and Sarra Elgan. The Englishman described how scary the Principality Stadium is and also had a lot of positive things to say about Mr. Owens.

In his prime, Haskell was a bone-crunching tackler and was also considered to be a bit of a hothead who frequently erupted in emotion. When the prop squirted water in his face, the former Wasps back-rower even wrapped his hands around England team-mate Joe Marler’s neck.”I adore Nigel. Alain Rolland and Nigel were always rather strict referees when they arrived. Haskell clarified, “Nigel has a death gaze on him.

“He wanted to make an impression when I initially got on. He used to give me a strange look since I’m such a huge, meathead Neanderthal. What I discovered about Nige was that to win him over—since he used to exercise and still does—I would remark something like, “Nige, the arms look good. Have you been working out?” when he wore the tight top. He used to remark, “I have!” I’ve been working out with some weight!

He gave me a lot of yellow cards. When I mentioned a nice location to go when in Wales with Northampton—I believe we were in Swansea—Nigel messaged me to add, “Actually, this is the place to go if you like Welsh cakes.”

“I love them. He sent me a box of amazing homemade Welsh cakes. When I opened it, there was a yellow card sitting on top of it – To James, I’ve given you so many of these in your career, you might as well have one yourself!”
