Eagles Insider Gives Latest Update On Nick Siranni’s Future

Nick Sirianni of the Philadelphia Eagles speaks during a press conference after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium on February 12, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona.

What comes next for the Philadelphia Eagles after a devastating loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild card round remains very up in the air – especially when it comes to the future of head coach Nick Siranni.

Rumors have continued to circulate about his status with the team and while NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Saturday that the team still hasn’t decided on whether or not they’ll keep him, he says coaching staff changes will come regardless.

“Siranni met with owner Jeffrey Lurie on Friday to present his plan for how to get the Eagles out of this rut and also for his plan for the coaching staff,” Garafolo said. “… We expect changes to the staff if Siranni remains, but that has yet to be seen.”

This is a critical moment for the Eagles after they entered the 2023 season as a favorite with a highly-paid quarterback but left the season as one of the most disappointing teams.

Siranni is at the center of it all after the late-season collapse, and he could very much be looking for another job if the Eagles decide they can improve without him on the sidelines.

Where the Eagles go from here remains completely after the mercy of Lurie and likely general manager Howie Roseman.

There are plenty of experienced head coaches on the market, but the team may want to keep continuity on the sideline and look to rebound in 2024 after a bad 2023 season.

New assistants could fix that, but Siranni will likely be on the hot seat for the entire 2024 season if he remains with the team.
