It was done so early: Fabrizio Romano gives latest Arsenal updates on £40m talent

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been regularly scouting Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

That is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has reported how much Leicester City wants for Dewsbury-Hall now.

So, what has been reported about Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Arsenal? Let’s take a look.

Arsenal really like Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Well, Arsenal are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, according to Fabrizio Romano in GiveMeSport.

The Italian journalist has reported that Arsenal have sent scouts to follow Dewsbury-Hall multiple times. The Gunners think that the 25-year-old midfielder is “very talented”.

Romano, though, has noted that it is Brighton and Hove Albion who have made an offer for the Englishman.

The reporter has claimed that Leicester want £40 million in transfer fees for Dewsbury-Hall if they are to sell him before the January transfer window closes this week.

Romano told GiveMeSport: “From what I heard, they have sent some scouts multiple times to follow him, because they believe he is very talented. Also, other clubs did the same, so not just Arsenal. I think it’s three or four clubs doing the same. The only proposal came from Brighton.

“From what I heard, they offered around £20m for him with some add-ons included in the proposal. This is still not enough to convince Leicester because they have always wanted around £40m for Dewsbury-Hall, so I think it’s not going to be that easy.

“The best candidate to sign the player in the final days is Brighton more than Arsenal in this moment.”

I do not see Arsenal spending £40 million on a midfielder they are not desperate for so late in the January transfer window.

Dewsbury-Hall is an attack-minded central midfielder, and I do not think that Arsenal have any immediate need for a player of his profile.

Moreover, Leicester may not be keen on letting Dewsbury-Hall leave now, even if they get £40 million. The Foxes could try to keep him on loan for the rest of the season if they do get a tempting offer.

After all, the former Premier League champions are aiming to win automatic promotion from the Championship.

While Leicester are way ahead of the chasing pack at the top of the Championship table, they cannot get complacent.

Dewsbury-Hall has made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Leicester this season. He has scored nine goals and given nine assists in those games
