How did you go about assuming your current position?

Melissa (Scott) Gann, a personal friend of mine, was employed by Touchdown Jacksonville. Melissa contacted me about joining the Jacksonville Jaguars after the team was awarded in November 1993. I began working in the ticketing department as a temporary employee in February 1994. Our offices were in the Omni Hotel (now Downtown Marriott) and the civic auditorium (now Times-Union Centre).

In May 1994, I started working full-time as the head of marketing and communications’ assistant. Our stadium was being renovated next to the Gator Bowl, where our offices were trailers. For the first eighteen years after we moved into the stadium, I helped out in the marketing, partnership, cheering, special events, broadcasting, and marketing departments, but always in the communications department. I was elevated to become Shad Khan and Mark Lamping’s assistant upon Shad Khan’s acquisition of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Give a one-word description of being a female athlete.
