Jalen Brunson’s Blunt Response to Performance And Joel Embiid Incredible Display vs Sixers

Knicks star reacts to lackluster performance vs Sixers.

The current NBA has earned a reputation for being a high-scoring game. However, such was not the case during the Philadelphia 76ers’ game against the New York Knicks. By the final buzzer, neither team had scored more than 80 points.

The high number of injuries suffered by both teams contributed to the limited scoring in this game. The Sixers remain without their top two players, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Meanwhile, New York was missing Julius Randle and OG Anunoby.

Despite suffering with injuries, the Knicks had an All-Star in this game in Jalen Brunson. However, the star guard had a night to forget. He played 32 minutes in the 79-73 loss, finishing with 19 points and eight assists on 27.3% shooting (6-for-22).

After the game, Brunson discussed how he fared against the Sixers. He didn’t hold back his frustration with himself. “I played like dog s***, that’s it,” Brunson told reporters after the loss.

Brunson, like Maxey, made his All-Star debut this season. He’s presently averaging 27.1 points per game, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

Kelly Oubre Jr. was the Sixers’ standout performer in Sunday’s game. He was inserted into the starting lineup and finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Buddy Hield has struggled lately, but he was able to break out of his slump in New York. He was the Sixers’ second-leading scorer, with 16 points on 66.7% shooting from three.
