Liverpool transfer news: A star for the Reds “turns down” a huge offer from Al-Nassr

Alisson Becker of Liverpool is said to have rejected a “massive” offer from Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, in advance of the summer transfer season. The 31-year-old has been Merseyside’s unquestioned first-choice goalkeeper since moving for £67 million from Italian powerhouse Roma in 2018, playing a crucial role in Jurgen Klopp’s prosperous tenure as manager. Despite the Reds’ collapse at the end of the previous year, which left Manchester City and Arsenal to contend for the Premier League title, Alisson had another successful season on a personal level, playing in 28 league games and keeping eight clean sheets.

With fellow countryman and Man City stopper Ederson suffering from a shattered eye socket, Alisson will almost definitely start for Brazil in the Copa America this summer in the United States. Following his competition for continental glory, where he hopes to win the Selecao’s tenth title, the keeper will return to England to start training for the 2024–25 season under the guidance of new Reds manager Arne Slot.Alisson, the goalie for Liverpool,’rejects advances’ from Al-Nasser
Alisson is expected to stay at Liverpool through the end of the summer transfer window, which would mean he will spend a seventh season on the Merseyside, according to Football Insider. According to the source, the 31-year-old turned down a sizable offer from Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team that is still making an effort to entice well-known players to the Middle East.

Luis Castro’s team finished second, 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal, in the Pro League last season despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s 35 league goals and outstanding play.Al-Nassr is believed to have focused on acquiring Juventus goalie Wojciech Szczesny after their bid for Alisson of Liverpool was rejected rather quickly. The 34-year-old former Arsenal player is still a fixture for Poland on the international scene and has an amazing 15 clean sheets in Serie A last season. Liverpool’s dilemma with goalkeeping  Alisson is expected to be Anfield’s first-choice keeper during Slot’s first season in charge, but as the summer transfer market approaches, there are still a lot of unsolved problems about Liverpool’s goalkeeping unit. Although it’s unknown at the moment whether the seasoned Spaniard will be staying on at the club, the Reds announced last month that they had extended an offer to Adrian for a new deal.

Caoimhin Kelleher, who impressed in goal as Liverpool won the EFL Cup the previous season, is reportedly drawing interest from Celtic, the Scottish champions, in advance of the upcoming campaign. It could therefore be advantageous for the Reds to hang onto the Brazilian star this summer, especially as there is anticipated to be a lot of movement below Alisson in the goalkeeping hierarchy.
