There are fresh faces in several key roles for the Las Vegas Raiders. They have a new offensive coordinator, linebackers coach, and general manager.

Assailants According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, coach Antonio Pierce has recruited former defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell to his coaching staff.

Additionally, Caldwell has worked as a linebackers coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New York Jets. Coach Pierce chose to choose a coach who probably looks a lot like himself to be the linebackers coach.

Caldwell, like Pierce, spent a considerable amount of time playing in the National Football League, appearing in over 150 games with 49 starts. Caldwell racked up over 500 tackles in that span.

The Raiders, who placed close to the bottom of the league in forced turnovers in 2022, made improvements in this area this season. Coach Pierce and Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham may find use for Caldwell’s shown capacity to force turnovers in a defense.

Before deciding to accept the jobs as run game coordinator and linebackers coach in Las Vegas, Caldwell reportedly interviewed with the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens, among other organizations.
Since joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 as their defensive quality control coach, Caldwell has been a coach. He would take over as their linebackers coach three seasons later.
After that, he would spend two seasons in the same role with the Arizona Cardinals in 2013. After that, he would spend four seasons as the Jets’ linebackers coach and assistant head coach before moving on to the Buccaneers to become their inside linebackers coach.

He would go on to win a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay before moving to Jacksonville to work for Doug Peterson. After the season, he was let go by Jacksonville, where he had spent the previous two seasons. As their defensive coordinator, Caldwell’s defenses in Jacksonville led the league in forced turnovers during both of his seasons there. Caldwell joins Pierce and Graham, two defensive-minded coaches who aim to further strengthen Las Vegas’ youthful defense. To make the most of the Raiders’ defense going ahead, the three will collaborate.
